Good Morning Sheryl and Peter:

On behalf of our participants and the entire staff at St. Paul’s PACE, we would like to thank you for stepping In and taking an active role in our Talent Show program held on September 28, 2018.
We value your talent and skills and we believe that the Talent Show reaches the height of success because you are excellent in what you do. Participants in our program, comments during these past days, are only about

Your presence in this program puts you in the favor of most of them.
Thanks again Sheryl and Peter for making the world a better place.

Hi Peter,

You were fantastic today at our party!

We sprung it on you that we wanted to celebrate Lori’s 1 year anniversary at your performance today. You were so accommodating and flexible with your music. Thank you so much!!

You are a wonderful storyteller.

Two of our gentlemen that live here got up and danced for the first time😀.

Hopefully Lori will have you back to entertain us again, soon.

Yours truly,

Oh my word! What a performer you are! I am sorry I had to run out in the middle of your show to get cupcakes for the “birthday bash!” It was clear to me that you have a calling on your life and the musical gift you gave our residents along with the personal interactions you had with them was invaluable. Truly, you are love in action.

Thank you for your friendship with Merrill Gardens and making our morning brighter!

Once a month Peter performs for The Balboa Avenue Older Adult Center a Program of Jewish Family Service San Diego, a program for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

At the end of every performance Peter and the center’s staff share all the miracles that happen in the room because of the music.

Yesterday August 16 the center remembered Elvis Presley because it was the 40th anniversary of his death. Peter played some of Elvis’s songs and Aviva Saad the Program Coordinator encouraged one of her participants to perform and sing together with Peter.

The man who suffers from Alzheimer’s stood up without hesitation and with an innate confidence grabbed the microphone started to make some jokes and sang with passion and excitement. The audience clapped and the gentleman was confident, happy and proud of himself, he was enjoying the moment.

At the end of the day his wife, who is his caregiver came to pick him up. She looked exhausted and Aviva saw her pain, frustration and tiredness and wanted to brighten her day. Aviva filmed her husband performance and shared it with her, when she saw it she could not believe it.

A huge smiled appeared in her face, and told Aviva; I can’t believe this, thanks for everything, you made my day. I did not know that my husband was able to do that, THANKS.

In The Balboa Avenue Older Adult Center music is an integral part of the program, because music is one of the memories that stays in the brain longer, and having fun, having friends and feeling accepted and treated with dignity is very important for any human being.

I have been an Activity Director in the San Diego area for ten years.
I have known Peter Seltser approximately eight of those years. I am currently the Activity Director for Assisted Living and the Memory Care unit at White Sands of La Jolla.
Peter entertains our residents on a continual monthly basis and has for several years. Peter’s talent is top notch. His enthusiasm and genuine love for the residents is obvious the moment he walks into the room.
Peter is extremely reliable and not only comes early and stays late. Peter enjoys taking requests and has probably the longest play list of any performer I have seen. Peter is not only a favorite entertainer of our residents, but family members and the staff here at White Sands are also happy to see when Peter is on our schedule.

You will not be sorry if you schedule Peter for your facility.

Heritage Pointe has had the pleasure of working with Peter Seltser as one of our entertainers. Our residents enjoy his show immensely as he is warm, funny, caring and very talented. He has a large repertoire of music and is very happy to customize any type of show you might like. His enthusiasm is very apparent and we look forward to having him perform for us at Heritage Pointe for a long time to come.

Peter Seltser is an outstanding musician and a wonderful entertainer who has been performing here at Somerford Place in Encinitas for 4 years. We are a memory care facility. Performing in a memory care setting presents a host of random distractions. Peter performs every show with such compassion and dignity for the group he is singing and playing for, we all forget our worries and just relax into his groove.
Peter’s show has a reputation for family fare at its finest. Having a regular spot on our calendar, Peter always shows up early and never hesitates to play an extra song or two. Our residents and their families set their schedules and visits around Peter’s show, not wanting to miss his performance.
He plays favorites from long ago and shares the history of the songs with the audience. The folk music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s are also right at his fingertips. With guitar in arms and the microphone at the ready, he welcomes requests from the crowd and is in tune with what the audience may want to hear next.
He knows how to excite the people he is performing for and has a flare for getting everyone singing, dancing and/or tapping along. He has a way of making everyone feel special.
Peter Seltser faithfully and enthusiastically brings relaxed smiles to a sea of faces each time he performs at Somerford Place.

On behalf of all of our seniors and staff, thank you so much for your performance on December 11th. You are truly an entertainer. Please know that you bring so much joy to those around you. I’ve included a few pictures from the performance. My favorite is of you and Mary!

Again, we thoroughly enjoyed having you and hope you will come back…over and over again J

Thanks for two days of great entertainment at Seacrest, including the moving send-off the second day with Leavin’ on a Jet Plane — despite (or perhaps enhanced by) the fact that I cried all through it! I was only sorry I couldn’t hang around for the full concert and still make my flight.

You’re a wonderful showman, Peter, and I’m so glad my mom and the other residents have the opportunity to enjoy your musical visits on a regular basis. Song and love are each transformative in their own way and you offer both with a generous heart.

Warm regards,
Ann and Karl

When it comes to good entertainment, I cannot place Peter Seltser in that category. He just doesn’t fit in that category. Peter Seltser is far above and beyond the “Good” category. HE IS AMAZING. I run the activity program at a skilled facility where we have many different types of residents. I originally hired Peter for a one time gig. When I saw him perform, I knew that I had to have him back again. When I found out that he would visit my residents in their rooms, I hired him to do both groups shows and one on one visits. I am so happy that I did. Peter comes to my facility twice a month. I only wish that I could have him every day.

Peter comes early to set up and warm up. He has a beautiful set up with speakers and an electronic device that is filled with all kinds of songs. He plays a guitar and sings to and with the residents. He plays requests and gives information about the different songs he sings. He plays many different genres from many different time periods. He spends time with the residents and even goes over his hour to bring that extra smile to a face. He is extremely personable, but what sets Peter apart from other entertainers is that HE LOVES WHAT HE DOES!

If you are looking for a good entertainer, look somewhere else. But, if you are looking for an entertainer that is above and beyond just “Good”, if you are looking for an entertainer who will change your idea of what an entertainer can be, if you are looking for someone to, not just entertain, but make a difference in the lives of your residents, HIRE PETER SELTSER! I promise that you will not be sorry you did. If you still aren’t sure, call me. I’ll tell you all about his visits with my residents and the difference he makes for them.

Hello Peter and Happy New Year!

Myself and the residents loved your shows when you came to Poway Healthcare Center in Poway. I no longer work there, but want to express my gratitude for the sincere compassion and joy and great entertainment and music. You may remember there was a 108 year old lady and she loved your attention.

Well, do not be surprised if I show up and watch your shows when you perform in the Poway, Escondido or anywhere else if I am in the area.

You may remember myself and the family member that spoke with you at length about genuine caring for others……it was after your show……

Thank you again for all the joy you bring !!!!

(Former employee of Poway Healthcare Center)

Dear Peter,
What more of a surprise could I have had on Veteran’s Day 2013! I was at first so taken back that I thought it was a joke, until I fully realized what was happening! It was certainly the best Veteran’s Day I can even remember. It really, sincerely makes up for the non-welcome when I returned from ‘Nam in 1970!
Thank you and thank you again!!

Another incredible family dinner night at Life Care Center of Vista with Great THANKS to my awesome staff Marjorie Acsay, Esperanza Martinez and Jackie Chang. Special thanks to the amazing Chef Raul Cicero, and my helpers tonight Sara Reyes, Lucy Moreno and Nada. Finally, I am blessed to have an incredible entertainer Peter Seltser….he has a heart of GOLD and my residents adore him.

Lisa Dolengewicz, Activity Director
Life Care Center of Vista

Peter Seltser is a talented and amazing person. He is a true entertainer, songwriter, and musician/guitar player and singer who performs for senior citizens at various healthcare facilities throughout Southern California. He brings joy and happiness with his music into the lives of all people that he plays for. His repertoire includes music from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
I had the pleasure of meeting and listening to Peter when my elderly mother was staying at Shea Family Care at Grossmont Center in La Mesa. Peter put on a concert after lunch on a Friday afternoon. As he played popular Songs of Yesteryear, I looked around the room and saw elderly men and women in wheelchairs singing along with him. One gentleman was extremely moved when hearing songs from his era; the music brought back many memories for him and he shed a few tears.

Not only does Peter put on a wonderful one-man concert, but he also knows how to interact with his audience. He has a magical way of “touching” and reaching his listeners.

“Some Enchanted Evening! You are one terrific entertainer. Please come back. Those were the days, my friend.”

Ethel F., Resident
Seacrest Village Poway

“What a consummate entertainer you are !!! It was delightful to watch you “work the room” during the evening at Gregorio’s. You certainly relate to all ages and venues. However, it was particularly special to watch you enchant the children. Thank you so much for your contribution to the Boys and Girls Club. All of us on the steering committee do so appreciate what you did. Oh, and that gorgeous guitar !!!”

“We always have a good time at Gregorio’s, but last night was SENSATIONAL!! What a giver you are, Peter. Maybe we got mixed up on the timing because my thought was you would start playing sixish and stop in 30 minutes or so —
Boy, you sure knocked that idea out of the park. Many, many thanks for a wonderful evening.”

“Peter Seltser has been performing for us for almost a year now. We are so impressed that we have made him a regular part of our events. He offers not just a performance; he interacts and includes residents and staff in his programs. It truly is a “Party” when Peter is here. His sincere joy for what he does and fondness for our residents is beautiful, apparent each time he comes.”

Tanya Aleto AD
AL/SCR Activity Coordinator

“It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Peter Seltser. I have known Peter for just over a year, and during this time he has been reliable, professional, and entertaining.

Peter is an asset to our facility as he’s always cheerful and willing to accommodate any request. I respect Peter for many of his qualities but most of all because he is able to connect with the residents and customize his music to meet the needs of his audience. In addition, Peter interacts well with the residents, staff and family members and as such I highly recommend him to any future facility, employer, organization or establishment.”
